Created in the Service of the Enviroment
Amidst the gathering problems of the global environment, and among them the ever mounting threat of global warming due to the destruction of the world's forests and ever increasing CO2 emissions, it is our first and foremost task to bring about an order of society based on recycling. And indeed, recycled materials are being discovered everywhere. Until the present, however, there have not been any standards for the approval of these materials and the consensus has been that they are not consistent with JlS or JAS standards.

This is where the Building Center of Japan, an affiliated organization of the Ministry of Land, lnfrastructure and Transport has stepped in with the creation of its "Approval Standards for Recycled Organic Building Materials." The Center is now providing approval services in accordance with these standards.

The nature of the Center's service is to lay down evaluation standards and criteria for the quality and environmental impact of recycled materials and to approve them as recycled organic building materials by taking into consideration their environmental impacts at every stage of their life cycle from the purchase of the raw materials through their manufacture, construction, in-service performance and maintenance to their demolition and disposal.

Misawa Homes' M-Wood2 has passed the first approval with flying colors. lt received an outstanding evaluation for the excellence of its recycling performance and environmental compatibility. We at Misawa will persist in our efforts to ensure that our M-Wood2 will be accepted as a product recommended for Green Purchase.
